Henry Perry, son & heir of Capt. William Perry, late of VA, deceased, received a land paten t of 3,500 acres, in Charles City Co, VA, known as Buckland, 10 May 1642, Pat. Bk. 1, Part II , p. 771, including 1,500 acres by assignment from George Minifie of his right of transport f or 30 persons, one of whom was named John Weaver. William Perry was th e second husband of Izabella (Smyth) Pace, widow of Richard Pace of Paces Paine, and step fat her of George Pace. Richard Pace was the "saviour" of Jamestown, who rowed across the James R iver from his plantation at Paces Paines to warn of the Indian attack that came the next morn ing, 22 Mar 1621/2, as a result of which Jamestown was spared the loss of life that occurre d elsewhere throughout Virginia. Richard and Izabella Smyth Pace and their son George were an cestors of Rev. Richard E. Pace of Putnam Co, GA, and Benton (Calhoun) Co, AL,whose daughter s married Sidney Linzey Weaver and Simeon Henry Weaver, descendants of Samuel (I) Weaver.
